IF - Racing

It has been FOREVER since I have submitted something for IF.

I was actually watching the NASCAR Sprint Cup race today and 

remembered doing this drawing a few years ago and thought it would be

good to post for IF this week!

I should really add color to this!!!!

This was my take on the Tortoise and the Hare!

This was a sketch out of my new phrase sketchbook that I just had to turn to color!

Halloween is Upon us

I have had this sketch in my book for a long time and have always been a little hesitant

to finish it with color... And I don't have a good excuse for it either...

So, in honor of Halloween, I think it is time!

Wine, anyone?!

I am becoming more and more amazed at what I am asked to illustrate for people...

This piece here, is going to be colored and then added to a wine menu.

I am being commissioned to illustrate, design and mat and frame the menu as a gift.

I am known for my linework, but I did a few things a pit different with this piece...

I will post it once I color it!

New Blog, New Project...

This is my new blog, Nikki Boetger Illustrations! Welcome!!!

I made the new blog so I could put my name on it for promotional purposes...

This week I also started a new Sketchbook project to help get me motivated on putting together some new portfolio pieces...

Two sketchbooks, one big, one small, have each been filled with simple phrases on the tops of the pages. Each day, I hope to illustrate one page in one of the books... 

The bigger book has phrases that welcome themselves to complete compositions and the smaller book is more for character studies, expressions and small objects...

This is page 2... This piece is based on a HS friend of mine who gave birth to twin girls last week!

This is the small book... I bought it to fit in my purse!

And this is the first sketch in it!!!

So far this has been fun... And I am already putting color to some of the pieces I have drawn!
