Fabulous Friday, June 24!

Hi all!!!

This week flew by, but was a great week!!!

This week was my birthday week and I had a great time with friends and lots of birthday wishes!!!

It was a week of slow progress, but success was found...
Kasey is slowly, but surely coming out of his skittish shell...
Scale at the vet proved that my other dog, Ananke, is shrinking, which is a GOOD thing...
And work had some great "AWWW" moments...

Above is a sketch from Sketchbook Pro.

Enjoy!

Fabulous Friday, June 17!

WOW! It's been a very fast paced week!!!
And I am later than I would like getting this week's
Fabulous Friday, posted!

I have been working diligently on a project that will be
announced during the first two weeks of July, hoping for July 1st!

In the above pic, is my two computers at my desk and Kasey, the new pup, under the desk...

3 Positives

1. Had a great Housewarming Party last Saturday!
Thanks to all who attended! I am enjoying every moment
in my new condo and still can't get over how good "pride of ownership" feels!

2. Has been watching the Seasons of Fraggle Rock while I work this week...
What a hilarious flashback to childhood!!! If you watched it as a kid, you should go to your local library and see if they have the seasons on DVD and check them out!

3. Got to spend a great afternoon with my two Best Friends on Thursday afternoon! Their friendship is PRICELESS and spending time with them as often as I get to now, just tells me I made the right decision moving back to Columbus!!!

Have a great week, everyone!!!

Fabulous Friday, June 10!

Happy Friday, EVERYONE!!!

This week was an adventurous week, to say the least...
Ananke and I have welcomed a new addition to our little family!

I would like you to meet, KASEY!

He came to us via Pick Me Rescue in Morrow, OH on Saturday!
It was very unexpected, as I have been considering another dog, but NOT actively looking.
I got an email on Thursday morning from a friend who thought his situation sounded like Ananke and Kaya's and that he looked so much like Ananke... So, I called the Rescue to ask about him...
This little guy is 4 months old and was TERRIFIED of everything and everyone...
I thought if anyone could help this pup Ananke and I could... He took to Ananke immediately and is like her shadow.. He is still extremely skittish and intimidated by people, especially when they are standing... Sit in the floor with him and he will bring you a toy and be your buddy!
He is gonna be a GREAT DOG and we are SO HAPPY to have him with us now!!!

3 Positives!

My three positives for this week are NOT art related! In fact, this post is not really art related!!!

1. Kasey coming to us, is a GREAT THING!

2. Two of my best friend's made it back safe from there long vacation in Mexico and they had a blast!!

3. I have been in the new home for just over a month now, and this week I got to spend a little time with one of my elderly neighbors who is a wonderful lady full of charm and spunk!!! So far, my neighbors have been super sweet and very friendly!!!

This weekend is the Housewarming Party and I am trying to get some things accomplished.

NOTE*
July 1, I will be officially allowed to share the project I have been working on for over a year.
With the launch of a product, and the launch of the official web site!!!

First Fabulous Friday!!!

I am back to blogging!

I have decided to start a weekly blog post, I am calling
Fabulous Fridays!
Why, because we all love when Friday's come, it almost always means,
it's time for the weekend to begin, right?!

In my Friday posts, you will find art of some sort that I have done this week
(and can share) as well as, three positive things that happened to me this week,
and maybe (if it were to happen) I will share a not so positive happening!

For my first post, I have decided to share with you a page from my sketchbook and tell you a little about it... I have a few sketchbooks that I have filled with phrase's, words or short sentences. The idea is to sketch whatever comes to mind once I read the page... Good practice for one who has to visually interpret another's words for a living, huh?! It also allows me to spend time thinking about the illustration and not so much on asking myself, what should I draw... Motivation at it's simplest, yet finest point. Or so I think!!!

This piece is "Five Monkey's Jumping on the Bed" (we all know the song!)

3 Positives

1. On Saturday, I finished digging, stamping and putting down pavers to extend my patio at my new condo. It has added a lot more room to have friends over for a fire, conversation and BBQ. Ananke and I have thoroughly enjoyed spending some relaxation time out there this week!!! I even made her a dog lounge out of two bench cushions sewn together,
and she likes it!!!

2. Started a new workout regime!
On Thursday, I did my first morning session of Yoga. And though, at the moment I am very clumsy with it, I found that about 30 minutes after the workout ended I had a rush of energy that lasted through out the day! Today I got back on the Spin Bike and rode for 30 min!
Hoping this will be the last renovation for awhile! LOL

3. Received a call just this morning from the foster mother of two very scared, white german shepherd pups who are going to be looking for a new forever home. We talked for over an hour and Ananke and I are going to take a short Road Trip tomorrow to meet one of the boys.
He is going to need LOTS AND LOTS of love, patience and understanding, but Ananke and I are excited to show him just how wonderful a dog's life can be! Hoping to see how they do together and hoping that maybe we can be a forever home for one of the boys in a month or two!!!

And NO unpositives to report this week!!!
(Is that even a word?!)

Have a great week all!!!

Fabulous Fridays, COMING this Friday!!!

Yes, after a LONG hiatus I am returning to blogging.

And it will start this Friday, June 3, with my new weekly post

Fabulous Friday!

These Friday posts are going to include some art from that week and give you a
look into my life as a freelance illustrator. My hope is to share with you 3 positive things that happened to me that week and maybe add 1 not so positive thing, if anything happens worth sharing!!!

I hope these weekly posts will be motivational, inspiring, thought-provoking and sometimes a little funny!

And I hope that you join me each week for a little bit of insight and maybe leave me and my viewers a comment about something that happened to you that week!

More to come, ON FRIDAY!!!
See you then!
